In this episode we discuss the topic of “digging a (proverbial) water well and when to do it.” Storm clouds are forming now because of our economy and uncertainty, and we need to take precautions to deal with that uncertainty. How do you build your business during these trying times? You can dig a (proverbial) water well before you’re thirsty. It’s about taking an offensive stance instead of defensive stance. My guest is Bob Lambert. Bob is a dynamic, high-energy executive with a solid record of leading/building successful businesses, generating millions of dollars in revenue, and growing profits.

One way to create success is by planning ahead for and having more productive networking meetings.

How to Have Successful Networking Meetings

Research the person before you sit down with them or jump on a phone or Zoom call with them. You can ask “here’s what I’ve learned about you, what have you learned about me?” Don’t commit “rive by networking”. You need to go deeper, its not just a one time shot. You have to spend time with people. This helps you move along the “know – like – trust” continuum. Be intentional about it. You can do this by determining what outcome(s) you want to get from the meeting and how you plan to get them.

We also discuss:

  • How the law of reciprocity plays a role in your business success.
  • Why looking professional on Zoom, including the lighting, helps you have more productive meetings.
  • What NOT to do when giving or asking for referrals.
  • …and more golden nuggets of advice!
