Over the years I’ve found unique ways to blend mentoring and marketing and I’d love to share one with you. Think about this: How appreciative are you after a mentoring conversation? It’s one thing to say, “Thank you” and move on with your day but there is a better way to say, “Thank you”.

Thank your mentors by marketing their genius.

Instead of keeping your conversations as 1 to 1, practice one to many. Interview your mentors for your podcast or a video for your YouTube station. Interview them and then write up the interview for a blog post or LinkedIn article. Whatever you’re most comfortable with, just do it.

The good news?

You’ll have a LOT more mentoring experiences because busy people don’t have time to let you “pick their brain” for free. If they know you’re going to share their genius with your audiences, they’re much more likely to say yes to your request to interview them because their message will reach more people than just you. You’re adding value to your audiences by publishing vicarious mentoring experiences for them.

More good news?

Sharing their genius will build your personal brand. In my case my podcast and YouTube station feature conversations about mentoring, marketing, and bringing big ideas to life. What do I get paid for? Creating mentoring programs, marketing and bringing big ideas to life. While your guests will change your audiences will remember you because you’re the one constant in the series of interviews.

I hope this idea creates some great mentoring experiences for you and your network!
